I am renting out our spacious house on Tranholmen, an idyllic archipelago island without motorized traffic, lying very close to the city between Lidingö and Norra Djurgården. We are living abroad, and the current renters are moving back to the USA. . The 150 m2 house lies on a 1700m2 property, and was built in 2015-2016 in a very sustainable and carbon-neutral way using almost entirely natural products: wood, straw insulation, clay plaster, a slate roof, and standing on a foam glass (recycled glass) base. Heating is done using a wood-fired mass oven, besides floor and wall heating. Hot water from solar panels (summer). The house is well insulated and heating (electricity) costs low compared to most other houses of the same size.. The house has a large downstairs area with high south facing windows and doors opening to the garden. The mass oven and seating area is at the west side, on the east side kitchen and dining corner. . The kitchen was updated with a new dishwasher and induction plate and oven two years ago. A toilet/shower/laundry room is near the entrance. Upstairs there are three bedrooms (one large (double bed), two smaller ones: one with bunkbed (not a child bed as on the picture!) , one with single bed and desk) and one large bathroom with bathtub and separate shower. Furnished rental. Note that moving furniture to/from Tranholmen is complicated involving boat transport.. There is a regular ferry connection (taking approx 10min) to Ropsten (6:45am-11pm). In winter (from November 1st to April 15th), there is a walking bridge crossing the 100m strait to Stocksund (Danderyd) where these is a parking lot and also the mail boxes. During the summer half year the bridge is removed, but you can always get back home from Ropsten on the ferry, or from Stocksund using either the own row boat, or one of the 7 communal row boats shared among the population of Tranholmen. Beaches and a communal sauna stand at your disposal as well, like a friendly village-like neighborhood, where many people know and help each other. There is also a large barn (‘logen’) for island activities; the midsommar festivities take place in a traditional style. In the summer half year, school children take a school boat. Rent is excluding utilities. . Note: we are considering selling the house, hence it is important to know that the rental contract can be terminated on a 3 month notice.
