We are renting our large, beautiful house in idyllic Gnesta for up to 2 years starting from the summer 2025. Located on top of a quiet hill in one of the older areas of Gnesta, south-west of Stockholm, this house of 153 square meters living space (two floors) is only 5 min walk from the train station. Large yard (ca 1600 square meters). You can easily get along to most places in town and outside of town, including Stockholm and Arlanda airport without a car, but having a bike might be of good use. The house would be ideal for you who has a small or larger family with children, maybe work from home, and maybe dream about a spacious, slightly different, quiet house with a large garden. The house is walking distance to restaurants, schools and daycare, an art space, a library, shops (incl Systembolaget), a lake, a beach, forests, ski track, ice skating ring, tennis, sport and gym facilities. It takes 35 min by regional train to get to Stockholm C; about 25 min to Flemingsberg (Karolinska Institutet, Södertörn University, etc), 20 min to Södertälje (Scania, Astra Zeneca, ABB), and 30 min to Nyköping (and Skavsta airport). The house is built in 1944 but we have recently renovated it. It has 5 bedrooms (we currently use the downstairs bedroom as an office, and another bedroom as a guest/tv room), 2 living rooms, 2 toilets (one with bath; one with shower), a kitchen and generous storage space. The large amount of windows makes even the darkest day of the year bright. All floors are wooden. The house features a fairly large yard with a hand-crafted greenhouse, a playhouse, a swing and a sandbox, parking, and a garden with plenty of berries to enjoy. You can easily spend many home-office hours and family evenings on the large, beautiful veranda or on the roof-covered balcony with a nice view over forests; or reading books on the sofa in the bright living room with two doors towards the yard. The house can be rented furnished, unfurnished or semi-furnished. It is particularly suitable for a family with 2-3 children. We are generally fine with smaller pets but no large dogs (and no cats in case you rent the house furnished). We can be flexible with the move-in date but it can not be before 23 June 2025, and the contract will end no later than 30 June 2027. The rent includes garbage disposal, but not internet connection, heat or water. The house is connected with fiber to Telia Open Fiber so you can get gigabit-speed Internet if you want. We are renting due to temporary move for work to Uppsala. About Gnesta: Gnesta is a town with a mix of countryside and urban (but not suburban) character, and our house is centrally located in the older part.
